Culture Director

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is launching a recruitment campaign for the purpose of recommending persons for appointment to the position of Culture Director in the Department.

The Culture Director will lead the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s engagement on cultural diplomacy and international cultural relations Effective and sustained engagement with the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and other cultural stakeholders in Ireland will be a core part of the role. The Director will also lead the development of cultural programming and materials for the network of Irish Embassies and Consulates. The successful candidate will head a small team at DFAT Headquarters in Dublin and will work to optimise the role of Ireland’s network of missions in promoting Irish arts, heritage and culture.

The closing date for completed applications is 12 November 2025 at 12 noon (Irish standard time). Late applications cannot be accepted.

NOTE: Qualifications/eligibility may not be verified by the Department until the final stage of the process. Therefore, those candidates who do not possess the eligibility requirements, and proceed with their application, are putting themselves to unnecessary effort/expense and will not be offered a position from this campaign.
