"I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Baroness May Blood. Through her community work, her tireless advocacy for equality in Northern Ireland, and her key role in the formation of the Northern Ireland Women's Coalition she made Northern Ireland a fairer, better and peaceful place.
"Baroness Blood, along with other members of the Northern Ireland Women’s Coalition, fought for their place at the negotiating table. Once there, they had transformative impact on shape of the final agreement.
"Her tenacious commitment to making Northern Ireland better for the next generations was evident in her work in support of integrated education, including as Chairperson of the Integrated Education Fund.
"Her legacy is a powerful one.
"My thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time."
