Statement by the Tánaiste on the release of the first group of hostages held by Hamas

"I warmly welcome the release of the first group of hostages held in captivity by Hamas.

"This is an emotional moment for the three women and their families, and for the people of Israel.

"All remaining hostages must be released. It is imperative they are reunited with their families.

"I urge all concerned to implement the ceasefire agreement in full over the coming days and weeks.

"This must include an urgent and massive flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, including access for UNRWA and the World Food Programme, to ease the suffering of the civilian population."
