Tánaiste visits the occupied Palestinian territory

The Tánaiste, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence, Micheál Martin, is continuing his visit to the Middle East today in the occupied Palestinian territory with a full day of engagements with political, UN and civil society contacts in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The Tánaiste will first travel to Beitunia Secondary Vocational School for Girls in Ramallah, where he will meet teachers and students.

Later, the Tánaiste will meet with civil society representatives working in the area of human rights and accountability. He will also be briefed by members of the West Bank Protection Consortium and meet with UN officials.

The Tánaiste will undertake political meetings with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and with the Secretary General of Fatah’s Central Committee, Jibril Rajoub.
