Donal McCann spent four years studying for a BSc in Robotics and Intelligent Devices at Maynooth University.
During his degree, he built a strong foundation in automation, robotics systems, and engineering technologies.
In his third year, Donal completed an internship with Midland Steel in their Research and Development department, where he worked on robotics and automation projects within the company’s manufacturing operations.
He now works full-time with Midland Steel’s R&D department. His projects range from machine and robot optimisation to testing and commissioning, as well as robot programming and research. Donal has worked across both Irish and UK factory sites, contributing to robotics projects in multiple locations.
