Dr Alissa Connors has 21 years of experience as a Consultant Radiologist and received her CSST in Radiology in 2002, having competed her FFR, RCSI and five years training. Dr Connors undertook Radiology training at Cork University Hospital (CUH) and completed her final year at the Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals, London focusing on breast and oncological imaging.
In 2006, Dr Connors took up the role of Clinical Director and lead Radiologist in the Southern Unit of BreastCheck and was involved in setting up the unit.
Dr Connors is Chair of the BreastCheck QA multidisciplinary committee which focuses on performance, KPI’s and quality improvement. She was also on the Expert Reference Group on Interval Breast Cancers for BreastCheck, published in 2020, in which she worked in collaboration with other members evaluating the issues and available evidence from literature and other jurisdictions to gain insight into wider experiences.
Dr Connors has also worked with clinical and non-clinical colleagues in the other national screening programmes.
