John Gleeson

Mr Gleeson is a solicitor and specialist in Medical Law.

Until his retirement in 2018 Mr Gleeson was a Partner and Head of the Healthcare team in Mason Hayes and Curran Solicitors, specialising in the areas of medical law and medical defence litigation.

Throughout a successful career spanning more than 40 years, he was a trusted advisor to public and private hospitals and insurers on a wide range of matters, from clinical governance to the defence of medical malpractice actions.

He is currently a Council Member of the Medical Council of Ireland.

He has been a member of the Board of the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital since 2013, and Chair of the Board since 2014.

He has been Chair of the Voluntary Healthcare Forum since 2016.

He is also a member of the Institute of Directors.
