Following completion of the HIQA Rapid HTA of Alternative Diagnostic Technologies for the Detection of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)-the COVID-19 National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) recommended the establishment of a NPHET subgroup on diagnostic testing approaches.
The NPHET Subgroup on Diagnostic Testing Approaches was established to report to NPHET with a strategic framework for implementation within the existing HSE COVID-19 Testing Programme.
The Subgroup was established 21 April 2020 and held two meetings on:
- 30 April 2020
- 15 May 2020
The Subgroup reported to NPHET with a strategic framework for implementation within the existing HSE COVID-19 Testing Programme. The Diagnostic Testing Approaches – Strategic Framework was endorsed by NPHET at its meeting on 22 May 2020 and the document was delivered to the HSE, for consideration and implementation.
