The Health Sector Workforce Subgroup of NPHET was established on 5 March 2020. Secretariat is provided by the Department of Health.

Mandate: The Mandate for the Workforce Subgroup is in line with Action 6 of Ireland’s National Action Plan in response to COVID-19 - to ensure the “Expanding and protecting of our health workforce and essential workers”.
The Subgroup meets fortnightly and more often if necessary. Agendas and meeting notes of previous meetings are published on the Department of Health website once approved by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) COVID-19 Subgroup – Workforce.
