Appointment of Mr John Biggins as a member of the Physiotherapists Registration Board

Following a Public Appointments Service (PAS) Campaign, and with the consent of the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly T.D., has appointed the following person as a member of the Physiotherapists Registration Board from 19 January 2021 to 19 May 2024:

Mr John Biggins

Mr Biggins is a qualified Barrister with considerable experience in regulatory/legal oriented roles. Since 2010 Mr Biggins has worked in the Central Bank of Ireland initially as an EU and International Policy Manager, then as a Banking Policy Analyst; rising to Policy Manager in 2016. Mr Biggins previously worked as a researcher in Trinity College Dublin and in University College Dublin where he focused on research into Transnational Private Regulation in the UCD Centre for Regulation and Governance.

Previously Mr Biggins has worked as Assistant Caseworker/Policy Officer in the Northside Community Law Centre and in the Dublin Area Citizens Information Centre as an independent non-executive director with primary responsibility for corporate governance matters.

Mr Biggins has board membership experience, with primary responsibility for corporate governance matters.
