Appointment to the Health and Social Care Professionals Council - 18 July 2023

Following a Public Appointments Service campaign, the Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has appointed Mr Denis Murphy to the Health and Social Care Professionals Council with effect from 12 July 2023 until 20 March 2027.

Mr Denis Murphy has been Chief Administrative Officer with the Association for Dental Education in Europe since 2013. He has acquired considerable experience in quality management/assurance in both the private and public sectors, including the Irish healthcare and higher education environments. He serves as associate faculty with the RCSI Graduate School of Healthcare Management where he leads on the delivery of two modules on the MSc for Quality and Safety in Healthcare. Denis has recently completed two terms as a member of the board of NMBI where he served as chair of the Preliminary Proceedings Committee for 5 years. He expects to complete his professional doctoral studies in governance in late 2023.
