Appointment to the Medical Council - 27 August 2021

On the nomination of the Health and Social Care Professionals Council (CORU), the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly TD, has appointed the following person as a member of the Medical Council from 27 August 2021 to 31 May 2026:

Marie Culliton

A Medical Scientist by profession Marie is the Laboratory Manager at the National Maternity Hospital. She is a graduate from the Biomedical Science programmes of DIT with a MSc is Clinical Biochemistry from TCD and the MBA in Healthcare Management from UCD.

Marie has served on National and International Boards including President of The Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine, President of the EPBS (European Association for Professions in Biomedical Science) and as the Deputy Chair of the Council of CORU (Health and Social Care Regulator). She is the current Chair of the Medical Scientists Registration Board and President Elect of the IFBLS (International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists).

Marie is passionate about ensuring that Clinical Diagnostic Laboratories provide a quality service as Diagnostic Partners in Healthcare.
