The CervicalCheck Tribunal was established on 27 October 2020 under the CervicalCheck Tribunal Act 2019. Establishment of the Tribunal was finalised with the appointment of the nominated members to the Tribunal with effect from 1 December 2020.
Section 35 of the CervicalCheck Tribunal Act 2019 places a requirement on the CervicalCheck Tribunal to submit an annual report to the Minister for Health not later than six months after the end of each financial year. The Act also provides that the Tribunal shall include particulars of its accounts in its annual report, and that the Minister may publish the report as he or she thinks fit.

The particulars of the accounts provided by the Tribunal have been summarised by the Department in the attached note.
In a letter dated 31 July 2023, the Tribunal Chairperson informed the Minister that all claims had been processed, and that as such the Tribunal’s core statutory functions had been completed. Having completed its required administrative work and discharging any remaining obligations, the Chairperson submitted her resignation as Chairperson of the Tribunal on 18 April 2024.
