Interim Report on National Rare Disease Plan for Ireland 2014-2018

This is a summary/detailed Interim Report on the implementation of the National Rare Disease Plan published in 2014 by the department.

It provides an update on progress with the implementation of each of the 48 recommendations in the National Plan.

These recommendations cover a number of areas pertinent to rare diseases, including:

• information and research
• prevention
• diagnosis and care
• empowering, protecting and supporting rare disease patients and carers
• implementation, monitoring and review of the National Plan
