Principal Officer, Health Security

Responsibility at PO level for: - Responsible for engagement with international for a and processes in relation to pandemic and health emergency preparedness, including DG Sante, DG HERA, the World Health Organisation and North/South bodies. Policy input and HSE oversight on areas of health emergency preparedness including health aspects of national emergency management. Represent the Department of Health, and lead on health-related work arising from the Government Taskforce on Emergency Planning. Responsibility for updating national health emergency preparedness legislation including alignment with EU and WHO commitments. Oversight on the implementation of the recommendations of the Expert Review Group on Public Health Threats.
