Responsibility at Principal level for development and implementation of pharmacy policy with a focus on the reform and expansion of the scope of practice of Pharmacists and Community Pharmacy. Regulation of Pharmacists and Pharmacy; Contractual Arrangements with Community Pharmacy; Control of drugs in accordance with national policy and international conventions; Provision of pharmacist and pharmaceutical expert advice within and across the Department; Governance oversight of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) and the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA).
