Principal Officer, Patient Safety Surveillance and Performance

Responsibility for leading a patient safety surveillance function and utilising key patient safety data to build intelligence and inform patient safety policy priorities and initiatives. Key responsibilities include corporate support unit for patient safety performance, including the development and publication of national healthcare quality indicators; contribution to the National Patient Experience Programme; leading and coordinating the NPSO’s liaison role with the HSE in relation to patient safety incidents; and coordinating Ireland’s response to the WHO Global Patient Safety Action Plan 2021-2030; and Uro-gynaecological mesh policy.
