Principal Officer, Rare Diseases Policy Unit

Responsibility for the development and implementation of the new National Rare Disease Strategy for Ireland, developing rare disease policy, leading engagement with the HSE’s National Rare Disease Office and relevant stakeholders on the development of rare disease services and representing the Department at a European level. The unit also has policy oversight of the implementation of the interim Model of Care for Long COVID; lung fibrosis; and lymphedema. The unit is also leading the Department engagement with the COVID-19 evaluation Panel.
