Urban Regeneration and Development Fund

As a key part of Project Ireland 2040 the Government’s National Planning Framework and National Development Plan The Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF) is intended to drive regeneration and rejuvenation of strategic and underutilised areas within Ireland’s five cities, key regional drivers and other large towns.

The URDF represents a new, more tailored approach to delivering Government support. Over its planned duration to 2030, over €2 billion of URDF funding will be targeted at supporting the renewal and revitalisation of our key towns and cities. To date there have been three Calls for proposals under the URDF with more than €1.9 billion provisionally allocated. Calls 1 and 2 are supporting 132 proposals, comprising of more than 400 individual projects whilst Call 3 is supporting the tackling of long term vacant and derelict properties through a €150m revolving fund.
