CEPP 6/2025 Circular Letter European Union (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) (Amendment) Regulations 2025

This circular notifies the relevant authorities of the partial commencement of the European Union (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 (S.I. 463 of 2025). These Regulations provide for consequential amendments to the European Communities (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) Regulations 2004 (S.I. No. 435 of 2004) following the enactment of the Planning and Development Act of 2024 (Act of 2024). The commencement of the Regulations is linked to the commencement of Part 3 of the Act of 2024. The Regulations (other than regulation (4(b)) come into effect on the 02nd of October 2025. Regulation 4(b) comes into effect on the commencement of Section 25(8), Section 25(9), Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 of the Act of 2024.
