Seanad Bye-Election to be held

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Mr. Darragh O’Brien, T.D., today (27th January, 2022) announced that an Order has been made directing that a bye-election be held to fill the vacancy in the Seanad caused by Senator Bacik being elected to the Dáil.

Senator Bacik was elected from the Dublin University constituency at the Seanad General Election in March 2020.

The last day for receiving nominations at the bye-election will be 11 February, 2022. Ballot papers will be issued on 25 February, 2022 and the poll will close at 11 a.m. on 30 March, 2022.

The electorate for the bye-election will be all those on the register of electors for the Dublin University constituency.
