The updated National Planning Framework (NPF) ensures enough land is zoned for housing. New Urban Development Zones and better transport links will help deliver homes at scale. The Planning and Development Act 2024 will speed up planning by setting clear timelines for decisions, including for An Coimisiún Pleanála. More staff will be added to local authorities, planning bodies, and courts to make sure these timelines are met.
