August Commencements 2025

1,156 commencement notices for new homes were lodged in August 2025

38,895 commencement notices were lodged on a rolling 12-month basis (September 2024 to August).

Of all units commenced in the first eight months of 2025, (Jan-Aug) 29.5% (2,534) were in the four Dublin local authorities. By individual local authority, the most units commenced this year so far have been in Dublin City (1,522) followed by Cork County (695) and Fingal County (670).
