The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Auditor (Local Government Auditor).
The Department’s mission is to support the sustainable and efficient delivery of well-planned homes and effective local government. The role of the Local Government Audit Service is to carry out, through a network of regional auditors, audits of local government bodies in accordance with the Code of Local Government Audit Practice, thereby fostering the highest standards of financial stewardship, governance and public accountability in the Local Government sector.
Reporting to the Local Government Auditor and/or the Principal Auditor, the Assistant Auditor post is part of the Department’s Local Government Audit Service. The main duties of the post are to assist with the statutory audit of the accounts of local authorities and other local government bodies in accordance with the Code of Local Government Audit Practice. Duties will also include Value for Money audits.
