I'm a small landlord with three or fewer properties, one of which I've rented out for four years. How will the new law affect me? - Rental market reforms

Fionn

Fionn is a smaller landlord (with three or fewer tenancies in rental accommodation) with one rental unit let for the past four years. What will this new law mean for him?

There will be a clear framework for rent controls. If Fionn’s current tenants decide to leave, he can re-set the rent in line with market rent. Fionn will be allowed to raise that rent annually in line with CPI, or by 2%, whichever is lower. Fionn can use the calculator on the RTB website to show him the maximum rent increase allowed.
