Most construction firms in Ireland are small businesses 97% employ fewer than 10 people. This makes it hard to achieve the efficiencies that come with scale.
What Government Will Do
- Encourage larger builders and greater use of MMC to boost productivity.
- Promote digitisation and lean management practices to cut waste and reduce costs.
- Create a pipeline of work for SME builders through the Land Development Agency’s regional programme.
- Ask larger developers to mentor SMEs and share supply chains to help smaller firms scale up.
The goal: increase efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver more homes faster.
