2,939 commencement notices for new homes were lodged in March 2026.

21,859 commencement notices were lodged on a rolling 12-month basis (April 2025 to March 2026).

By Local Authority, the most units commenced were in Fingal County (686), followed by South Dublin County (277) and Dun-Laoghaire Rathdown (178).

Data is also collected on the main method of construction and main construction material used in commencements. This allows for the identification of where Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) are intended to be used.
