19,667 commencement notices were lodged on a rolling 12-month basis (March 2025 to February 2026).

By Local Authority, the most units commenced were in Dublin City (537), followed by Wicklow County (496) and South Dublin County (405).

Data is also collected on the main method of construction and main construction material used in commencements. This allows for the identification of where Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) are intended to be used.
