Rhododendron control measures at Fawnboy Bog/Lough Nacung SAC– Determination on Screening for Appropriate Assessment

Rhododendron control as part of necessary conservation measures within Fawnboy Bog/Lough Nacung Special Area of Conservation and Cloghernagore Bog and Glenveagh National Park Special Area of Conservation. The Invasive non-native Rhododendron ponticum stands have been shown to reduce biodiversity, extirpate native species, prevent woodland regeneration and be a host to the important plant pathogen Phytophthora ramorum.
