Second-Hand Social Housing Acquisitions Programme

This programme focuses on buying second-hand homes to help people and families in very difficult housing situations.

It will prioritise those with the greatest need, including:

• People leaving long-term homelessness
• Those at risk of losing their current tenancy
• People with disabilities
• Older people
• Young adults leaving care
• Tenancies under the Housing First initiative

For tenancy sustainment, the programme acts as a last resort to help councils prevent individuals or families from becoming homeless when no other options are available.
