1,653 commencement notices for new homes were lodged in September 2025.

27,210 commencement notices were lodged on a rolling 12-month basis (October 2024 to September 2025).

Dublin local authorities. By Local Authority, the most units commenced this year so far have been in Dublin City (1,808) followed by Cork County (956) and Fingal County (736).

There have only been 16 units commenced in Galway City.
