Principal Officer, Franchise (Electoral Registration Project)

Responsibility at Head of Business Unit level for the Franchise Electoral Registration Project. The project aims to deliver improvements in the electoral registration process for administrators and the public, to protect and enhance the integrity of the system over time.

Key tasks include policy development, stakeholder consultation, project management of implementation of reforms including legislative and ICT elements, including supporting the delivery of a National Electoral Registration system by the Local Government Sector.

The Unit is also responsible for overseeing the implementation of the new Higher Education Constituency of Seanad Éireann as provided for in the Seanad Electoral (University Members) (Amendment) Act 2024.
