Service

Met Self-Briefing

The Met self-briefing system is designed to provide easy and convenient access to a range of aviation-focused weather information for all pilots and airport operators etc. Registration is needed for access, but the service is free.

There are currently approximately 800 registered users. The emergency services (Coastguard, Air Corps) are among the primary users, as are the local airports such as Waterford, Sligo and Farranfore. General Aviation, which encompasses both private pilots who fly as a leisure activity and also small-scale commercial aviation, are significant users.

Large-scale commercial aviation users will access this information as a back-up option, but will in general receive their weather information by other means.
