Ireland Against Racism Fund

The Ireland Against Racism Fund (IARF) provides funding for national and regional projects that aim to combat racism and foster racial equality and community cohesion. The Ireland Against Racism Fund supports the implementation of the National Action Plan Against Racism and the achievement of its objectives.


2025 Funding Call

On 16 July 2025, the Minister of State for Migration Colm Brophy, announced up to €1 million in funding under the 2025 Ireland Against Racism Fund.

The funding call will be based on five thematic pillars:

  • Being Safe and Being Heard – Supporting people who experience racism and protecting people from racist incidents and crimes
  • Being Equal – Addressing ethnic inequities
  • Being Seen and Taking Part – Enabling minority participation
  • Being Counted – Measuring the impacts of racism
  • Being Together – A shared journey to racial equality

The fund has two Schemes:

  • Scheme A for projects seeking grants between €40,000 to €100,000.
  • Scheme B for projects seeking grants between €5,000 to €10,000.

IARF 2025 - Scheme A

Scheme A is open to applications from NGOs and community organisations that wish to carry out national or regional projects that combat racism and promote equality. The grants available under this funding call are from €40,000 to €100,000 for Scheme A projects.


IARF 2025 - Scheme B

Scheme B is open to applications from NGOs and community organisations for smaller scale local initiatives that combat racism and promote equality. The grants available under this funding call are from €5,000 to €10,000 for Scheme B projects.


How to Apply

Complete the application form for the relevant Scheme, using the full legal name of the organisation applying for the funding. You will also be required to describe your project and its objectives, as well as the need it is seeking to address and the overall budget.

When applying, please indicate which theme of the 2025 Ireland Against Racism Fund your project relates to.

IMPORTANT: The project must have commenced by 31st December 2025 and cannot be earlier than the date the Grant Agreement is signed. The project end date cannot be after 30 November 2026. Projects that do not comply with this criteria will not be considered.


Deadline for applications

The closing date for receipt of applications is noon on Wednesday 27 August 2025.

The Department will not respond to queries during the assessment / review process.
