Rapid Build Accommodation (EN)

The withdrawal of State-Contracted Commercial Accommodation (EN), scheduled to commence in August will not impact people currently in rapid build accommodation. Residents may remain until March 2027 in line with the current Temporary Protection Directive.
Separately, work is ongoing to explore future uses for the rapid builds post temporary protection and further steps will be considered in due course to ensure a supported and orderly exit from the programme.
It is important to note, however, that if you wish to apply for the new Temporary Protection Transition Scheme, you will be required to surrender your rapid build home prior to your application in order to meet the conditions of the scheme.
