New regulations to enhance Community Safety come into effect

New regulations taking effect today allow for the establishment of Local Community Safety Partnerships (LCSPs) in each of Ireland’s 36 local authority areas.

At a local level, these partnerships will play a major role in enhancing community safety through collaboration with An Garda Síochána, local residents, businesses, and state agencies.

Each LCSP will include up to 30 members and will be required to develop and implement its own tailored community safety plan. The Partnerships will take a strategic approach, enabling issues to be addressed in a coordinated way by service providers working closely with the community.
