Civil Service Traveller and Roma Placement Programme

Background

The programme provides a 12-month placement with a pathway to permanency for Clerical Officer (CO) and Executive Officer (EO) levels. The programme is developed in line with the National Traveller and Roma Inclusion Strategy II (2024 – 2028) and aims to increase the participation and inclusion of the Traveller and Roma communities in Irish Civil Service.

Eligibility

  • Identify as a member of the Traveller or Roma community
  • be at least 17 years’ of age
  • satisfy the citizenship requirements
  • have a good general standard of education
  • have relevant skills such as IT and team working
  • be available and ready to undertake a full-time 12-month internship
  • satisfy health, character and reference checks if offered a position
  • satisfy garda vetting and security requirements if offered a position.
