Lithuanian Communications Officers from the Ministry of Finance working on EU Funds travelled to Dublin for a 2-day study visit on 5-6 of November through TAIEX.
TAIEX is a program run by the European Commission which helps Member States share knowledge and expertise. The Lithuanians have a new team dedicated to communication about EU investments and looked to gain first-hand experience in working with European Union investments and to learn how communication is carried out in other Member States.
As part of the visit, we showcased a number of EU funded projects, traveling outside of Dublin to the midlands on Wednesday 5 November for some site visits including Scragh Bog, Co Westmeath and then on to Lullymore Discovery and Heritage Park in Co Kildare. We also spent the morning at the EUJTF Fest in Mount Druid, Co Westmeath brought together all the projects funded under the EUJTF programme, community groups, and key stakeholders to highlight the real-life benefits and strategic delivery of the EU Just Transition Fund, demonstrating its crucial role in promoting sustainable local economies and communities.
Activities included, exhibitions of inspiring projects funded through the EU Just Transition Fund, Presentations and testimonials from project beneficiaries, Networking opportunities and breakout sessions with meaningful conversations to help shape the future, Stories from communities around the Midlands and Interactive workshops.
On Thursday 6 November here in the Department, they were guided through a serious of presentations from colleagues in the Communications and Cohesion Policy North / South Unit with a focus on AI and Social Media.
