The Governance Framework of the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation implements the corporate governance standard for the civil service.
This Governance Framework covers:
- Overview of the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation
- Ministerial Responsibilities and Senior Management Roles & Assignment of Responsibilities
- Management Board and Other Governance Structures
- Audit, Assurance and Compliance Arrangements
- Bodies Under the Aegis of the Department
The objective of the Governance Framework is to ensure that the Department's systems of accountability and responsibility, and compliance arrangements, are effective, clear and identifiable. It is intended as a guide for everyone in the Department, and for those we serve, on how we do our work. It also sets out our standards of conduct, our values and the governance systems that determine the way that we work. The Governance Framework was first published in May 2016. To ensure that it remains up-to-date, it has been reviewed, updated and re-published on a number of occasions, most recently in February 2026. The Framework will be kept under ongoing review and updated accordingly from time to time.
