Functions and Services Provided to the Public

The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform serves the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, the government and the Oireachtas. It engages with the bodies under its aegis and with international institutions as part of its remit.

It does not as such provide services to the public in respect of the operation of schemes or as part of any legislative requirement, although it does have policy responsibility for certain pieces of legislation: Legislation of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.

The department runs a limited number of websites that provide information services for the general public.
