Minister Chambers welcomes the publication of his Department’s new Statement of Strategy 2025-2028

The new Statement of Strategy 2025-2028 of the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation has been published today. The Statement of Strategy is an important milestone as it sets out the strategic direction for the Department between now and 2028.

Under the Strategy, the Department’s mission is to drive the delivery of better public services, living standards and infrastructure for the people of Ireland.

The Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, Jack Chambers, T.D., said:

I welcome this new strategy and look forward to working with Minister of State Emer Higgins and all staff in the Department to deliver on the ambitious range of actions to be implemented between now and 2028. Delivering reform is central to everything we do in the Department and I believe that implementation of the actions under each of the three strategic goals – enhancing governance; building capacity; and delivering effectively – will ensure that the Department continues to make a major contribution at the centre of government”.

Emer Higgins, T.D., the Minister of State at the Department with responsibility for Public Procurement, Digitalisation and eGovernment, has also welcomed the new strategy. She stated that:

In line with the Programme for Government, the strategy clearly reflects the critical role of digitalisation in enhancing public services and I look forward to the delivery of the impactful actions in this area. I also welcome the continued strong focus on public procurement in order to leverage the collective spending power of the State to drive positive change, deliver better public services and, ultimately, improve the lives of the people of Ireland”.
