Data controller
For the purpose covered by this privacy notice, the data controller is the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Sector Reform and Digitalisation (DPER).
Purpose for processing
The personal data collected through this Register Your Interest form will be used solely to record expressions of interest and to contact individuals with information or updates relating to the Digital Wallet Beta or associated activities.
Lawful basis for processing
The lawful basis for processing your personal data for this form is:Consent – Article 6(1)(a) GDPRBy submitting this form, you provide explicit consent for DPER to collect and use your personal data for the purposes described above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at publicservicetransformation@per.gov.ie or using the opt‑out instructions provided in any communication you receive.

The following personal data will be collected:
- first name
- last name
- email address
No special category data is collected.
How we collect your data
Your data is collected directly from you when you complete and submit this Register Your Interest form on the FormsIE platform, which is hosted within the EEA.
How we use your data
Your data will be used to:
- record your expression of interest in the Digital Wallet Beta;
- contact you with relevant information, updates, or invitations;
- manage communication lists linked to this purpose.
Your data will not be used for automated decision, making or profiling.
Personal data and third parties
Your personal data will not be shared with any third parties. Access is restricted to authorised staff within DPER/OGCIO responsible for communications relating to this initiative.
How long we keep your data
Your personal data will be retained only for as long as the Register Your Interest process is active and related communications are ongoing. If you withdraw consent, your data will be deleted promptly in line with DPER retention and deletion policies.
Your rights
Because your data is processed on the basis of consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by emailing publicservicetransformation@per.gov.ie and requesting removal of your details from the Register Your Interest list. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before withdrawal.You also have the following rights under the GDPR:
- right of access to your personal data (Article 15)
- right to rectification of inaccurate personal data (Article 16)
- right to erasure in certain circumstances (Article 17)
- right to restrict processing in certain circumstances (Article 18)
- right to data portability, where applicable (Article 20)
