Data Sharing Agreement for Independent Research of Education Data – DOEERC 020_251002

The Department of Education and Youth have entered into a Data Sharing Agreement under the Data Sharing and Governance Act 2019 (DSGA) with the Educational Research Centre (ERC). The purpose of this Data Sharing Agreement is to enable the ERC to conduct independent research on all aspects of education and at all levels of the education system including educational research that will inform policy making and the improvement of educational standards. As part of this work, the ERC carries out various studies at a national and international level on behalf of the department, such as: Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS), Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).

The DOEERC 020_251002 Data Sharing Agreement contains amendments to the agreed data sharing terms and conditions outlined in the original DOEERC 020_230803 Data Sharing Agreement. DOEERC 020_251002 replaces DOEERC 020_230803 as a legal contract permitting personal data sharing under the DSGA.

The DOEERC 020_230803 Data Sharing Agreement is no longer effective and has been unpublished from the Data Sharing Agreement Register along with its associated Data Governance Board Recommendations.
