AI as an Accessibility Partner

This workshop explores how AI could support the public sector in delivering accessible services, and where it risks compromising accessibility.
This in-person workshop will be hosted by the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design at the National Disability Authority and will take place on. The event leads are Shivaali Scully, Senior Design Advisor – Products, Services & Systems, Donal Fitzpatrick, Senior Advisor for the European Accessibility Act, Aislinn Conway, Senior Standards & Monitoring Officer (Web Accessibility Directive) and other staff members of CEUD.
Who should attend? Policy makers - Persons with disabilities - Anyone with a responsibility or interest in AI, accessibility and the design of public services - Anyone working in the area of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

Apply to School – Single Online Application System

The Presentation will focus on the pilot of the ‘Single Online Application’ system for admission to post-primary school, as a first step towards a nationwide common application system. This is a cross-divisional digital project with a focus on customer service, stakeholder engagement and delivering the greatest impact for children and families. Using cloud services to deliver a client relationship management system for the EU Council Presidency

The session will give an overview of the experience of introducing HubSpot, a public-cloud solution, to provide a client relationship management system to assist with work related to the upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU.

  • The online presentation will provide an overview of the demands and opportunities created for DCDE by the Presidency and the rationale for replacing existing processes with a single, cloud-based system.
  • We will cover the experience of working collaboratively to explore the solutions available, identify viable options, and implement a SaaS solution that meets requirements. The session will conclude by briefly describing some of the issues encountered and considerations that may inform future work.
