Jake Ryan

Responsibilities

Jake Ryan has responsibility at Principal Officer level for leading the Community & Voluntary Supports and Programmes Unit (CVSP). CVSP’s remit is to sustain and support the development of Ireland’s thriving Community and Voluntary sector. In furtherance of this, the Unit:

  • promotes volunteering, supports the national network of Volunteer Centres and national volunteering organisations, and is responsible for the National Volunteering Strategy;
  • provides financial support to national organisations working to address inequality, social exclusion and poverty via the Scheme to Support National Organisations (SSNO);
  • supports active citizen participation in policy making by facilitating the work of Public Participation Networks and the Community & Voluntary Pillar;
  • is responsible for governance oversight of the Charities Regulatory Authority (CRA) and Water Safety Ireland (WSI) and provides ongoing support to both organisations to achieve their missions; and
  • funds a range of volunteer, community and integration focused initiatives including the Senior Alert Scheme.
