From June 2nd, 2025, the functions of the Gaeltacht have transferred over from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to the Department of Rural and Community
The Department of Rural and Community Development will be known going forward as The Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.
The Department will continue to work to promote rural and community development and to support vibrant, inclusive and sustainable communities throughout Ireland including in the Gaeltacht regions.
Our offices and phone numbers remain the same with our Head Office in Trinity Point in Dublin as well as our offices in Ballina in Mayo. The Department will also now have offices in Na Forbacha in Galway and Gaoth Dobhair in Donegal.
