  • Work and Skills events taking place from 16-30 October across the country
  • 52 events nationwide focusing on jobs, careers and training options
  • Over 150 exhibitors participating
  • The message from Minister Humphreys is “Intreo is here to help”

The Minister for Social Protection, Heather Humphreys T.D., has today launched the Intreo Work and Skills events, which are taking place from the 16th to the 30th of October in towns and cities across Ireland.

Over 52 events are taking place, with a huge variety of jobs available across a range of sectors including construction, hospitality, healthcare, logistics, retail and many more.

Through Work and Skills events, the Department will showcase the Intreo supports and services that are available to both employers and jobseekers. Over the course of the events the Department will bring employers and jobseekers together at information seminars and recruitment fairs.

The different events will provide jobseekers and job changers with the opportunity to explore their job options and meet with employers. Works and Skills events will also provide opportunities for employers to access a wide range of new and diverse talent.

Commenting on the events, Minister Heather Humphreys said:

“The Work and Skills events taking place across the country are an important support in bringing employers together with people who are actively seeking job opportunities, as well as highlighting the range of training options currently available.

“My Department is here to help any person out there who is looking for a job or to upskill, retrain or go back to work or education and Work and Skills events play an important part in that.

“I would encourage anyone out there looking for work to come to our events and speak to our staff to gain some invaluable help and advice.

The nationwide events commence on the 16th October with a recruitment event for Hamilton Park Care Facility in Swords Intreo Office, Co Dublin. The campaign also includes a multi-sector Recruitment & Training Fair in The Metropole Hotel, Cork on the 23rd of October. Over 30 exhibitors will be at the Fair including Marks and Spencer, Moxy and Residence Inn, Sodexo and Praxis Care. Those in attendance will be recruiting for roles including healthcare, hospitality and retail.

This year, the campaign includes a number of events that will support invited jobseekers to meet directly with employers who have signed the Intreo Employment and Youth Engagement Charter. These ‘Charter Champions’ have committed to supporting jobseekers to enhance their employability skills through a range of activities including site visits, CV workshops and jobshadowing.
