Relocation of the Muirhevnamor and Adelphi Court Community Welfare Services to Dundalk Intreo Centre

The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection are improving and enhancing the delivery of the Community Welfare Services in Dundalk.

The Community Welfare Services at Muirhevnamor and Adelphi Court will relocate to the Department’s nearby Intreo Centre on St. Alphonsus Road, Dundalk from Monday 19 August 2019.

This will facilitate the provision of an expanded, more accessible, efficient and fully integrated service in one location to customers. The main benefit to customers will be expanded opening hours, as follows:

The co-location of the Community Welfare Services team will ensure that an official is available to deal with all types of customer queries and emergency situations. The move will also allow customers to access the full range of the Department’s services under one roof and remove any inconvenience in having to travel between locations.

Customers will be able to visit the office in person during normal working hours or they will be able to make an appointment by telephone at 042-6823558. This will reduce current waiting times for customers. Those with queries can quickly and easily receive an answer over the phone, so the expanded telephone service may save them the inconvenience of visiting the office. If a customer has mobility issues or would otherwise have a difficulty in visiting the office, we are happy to make arrangements for a member of the team to visit the customer at home.

Current payment arrangements will not be affected. The final clinics in Muirhevnamor and Adelphi Court will take place on Thursday, 15 August 2019 and the new service will be available from the Intreo Centre on St. Alphonsus Road from Monday, 19 August, 2019.

To ensure a smooth transition, the Department has communicated with all affected customers regarding the improved service.
