For what purpose(s)?
The PPS Number is used on matters relating to employees i.e. salary, tax issues and social welfare matters.
Does your Department exchange the PPS Number with any external body? If so please name the relevant bodies and state the purpose(s) of the exchange
The Office uses the number for salary purposes with Salaries Section, Department of Finance who run the payroll for our office. We could also exchange the PPS Number with Revenue and Department of Social Protection as well as transfers of staff between the various other Government Departments.
What future plans has your Department for the use of the PPS Number?
The Office will continue to use the number as laid out above.
