At the end of your traineeship, you will have the opportunity to join the ranks of Executive Officers in the department committed to driving change, shaping policies, and serving customers.

Included in this programme

If successful, you will be placed as a trainee Deciding Officer. You will be making decisions on the awarding of income supports and other social welfare payments. Following a successful year, you will progress to a second-year placement, in one of three roles. A Job Coach, Executive Officer Inspector (EOI) or Executive Officer Operations.

  • Job coach – You will engage directly with Jobseekers, providing guidance and support to them in their search for employment
  • Executive Officer Inspector – You will establish that claimants for certain social welfare schemes fulfil the relevant statutory conditions
  • Executive Officer Operations – You will process claims, manage applications for various schemes, and handle customer inquiries related to income supports and services
